- Bluegrass Gospel USA!
- United States, Washington, D, Washington
- Produced and hosted by veteran radio personality Bill Miller out of Knoxville, TN, Bluegrass Gospel USA! is a music intensive (15-20 songs per hour) show featuring the very best in bluegrass gospel music by the greatest acoustic artists of our time.
Bill Miller grew up in East Tennessee – “The Bell Buckle of the Bluegrass Belt” – surrounded by music. His father introduced him to Hank Williams, Flatt & Scruggs, and The Grand Ole Opry on WSM. His mother (whose cousin played with The Foggy Mountain Boys) serenaded her family with beautiful hymns every day. “We woke up every morning to The Cas Walker Show on a Knoxville TV station. Red Rector was a regular with Cas when he was in town, so was Dolly Parton.” As a young boy, an uncle would take him to the legendary WNOX Midday-Merry-Go-Round shows downtown. “Although I love the Beatles and Wilson Pickett, it’s bluegrass that makes my heart beat.”
Bill eventually came to work as a DJ at commercial stations in Tampa Bay, Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, Charlotte and other markets. For seven years, he wrote and published a newsletter for the country music and country radio industries, The Blue Chip Radio Report.
Bill currently lives in Knoxville, Tenn. where he plays recreational guitar with a bluegrass band and recreational banjo for the squirrels in his backyard.
