UPDATE: Irene is pounding Eleuthera and Cat Island. Warnings have been discontinued for Southeast Bahamas. Irene is moving northwest @ 13mph. The core of Irene is expected to move very near to the south of Abaco. Irene is still a category 3 storm. Storm surge will severely impact islands. For New Providence the Eastern part of the island will have winds of 75-80mph. The Western part of the island will experience winds up to 55mph. NP conditions will expect to end between 2pm-5pm this afternoon!
