Fotos de la biografíaToday's Mid-day HAHA! The CIA were conducting a job interview for only highly qualified people. After all the background checks, interviews & testing were done, there were 3 finalists: 2 men & a woman. For the final test, the CIA agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. "We must know that you will follow instructions, no matter what the circumstances. Inside this room, you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Kill her!" said one of the agents. The man said, "You can't be serious! I could never shoot my wife!" "Then you're not the right man for the job. Take your wife and go home." The 2nd man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes. Then he came out with tears in his eyes and said, "I tried but i can't kill my wife!" The agents said, "You don't have what it takes. Take your wife & go home." Finally it's the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions to kill her husband. She took the gun & went into the room. Shots were heard, one shot after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door slowly opened and there stood the woman. She wiped the sweat from her brow and said... "This gun is loaded with blanks. I had to heat him to death with the chair." =========================== Moral of the story... hell hath no fury like a woman scorned... or perhaps just simply...woman get things done. KEKEKEKEKEKEKK!!!

Fotos subidas con el móvilClass 95's GASTRO GUIDE checks out... QUAYSIDE FISH BAR & BISTRO 31 Ocean Way Quayside Isle (Sentosa Cove) #01-11 Singapore 098375 Tel: 6268 8633 Opening hours: Sunday to Thursday: 12pm - 12am Friday & Saturday: 12pm - 1am Brunch menu every Sunday from 11am. Happy hours from 12-7pm. Late night menu & happy hours from 10pm every day. If you light up at the word "seafood", you'll love this week's recommendation. It's a newly opened upscale seafood joint by the waterside at Sentosa Cove's new Quayside Isle and it's called Quayside Fish Bar & Bistro! Opened by Reuben Tan of Bar Bar Black Sheep & S11 food court boss Darren Ong, this casual eatery boasts a modern Australian inspired menu built upon the freshest fish & seafood from around the world. In fact, the cold ocean items are air-flown in fresh or live on the day itself for absolute freshness! And no, the items are never re-frozen. You can either pick a fresh fish or crustacean you like and tell the chef how you want it cooked or select something from the a la carte menu. Here are my recommendations! Black Truffle & Ricotta Ravioli ($25) - This delicious starter really set the tone for things to come. The minute it arrived, I could smell the beautiful aroma of the black truffle. Very artfully plated, the food tasted as good as it looked. The pasta was nice and thin & soft, inside it's stuffed with yummy ricotta drizzled with an intense & flavourful brown buttered cream, crispy bread crumbs (fried panko) & torched octopus tentacles which were cooked just right - not overly chewy. Cold Seafood Platter ($150) - The is the house specialty and rightfully so because the seafood is fresh with a capital F! Served on a classic tiered stand, you have an entire whole boston lobster with roe inside and claws perfectly intact, oysters, half shell scallops from Hokkaido (where all their scallops come from), prawns, octopus & calamari. The seafood has that fresh clean taste as if it were just right out of the ocean and it tastes good on its own. But you also get a trio of sauces to go accompany it - Sambal, Tartare Sauce & Miso Sauce. The sambal was to die for! So fragrant & flavourful, just the right balance and not overly sweet and it has some kick! I couldn't get enough of it! If you're having this as a starter, I reckon it's enough to feed 4-6! Baked Barramundi ($36) - This dish was the big winner of the night for us. The barramundi's really fresh and it shows. It's seasoned just right so the natural taste of the fish isn't overwhelmed & cooked perfectly crispy on the outside but so moist and soft when you bite into it. Served with a really delicious brown buttered carrot puree that's velvety smooth, creamy and not overly sweet. That together with the saltiness of iberico chorizo flakes and a bit of tanginess from the Australian leek fondue makes for a perfect dish. Tiger Beer Battered Turbot ($26) - A not so simple fish & chips because it has THE crispiest batter I've ever had. As you cut it or chew it, it's so crunchy, it sounds like you're eating potato chips or something. Yes, it's THAT crunchy. So crunchy it is as if the batter is biting you back! Instead of the Dory, here they've opted for Turbot which is a more delicate light fish that's moist and juicy inside. It's served with white truffle scented shoestring fries, mashed mint-green peas & tartare sauce. Quayside House Laksa ($24) - This dish actually tastes more like drier but super intense curry noodles instead of laksa but it's really good. The flavour of the spices is strong in a good way & the sauce thick & creamy. There's just a wee hint of spiciness. A very addictive dish, the more we ate, the more we wanted. You might also want to order a serving of that awesome kick-ass sambal to go with this! Homemade Tiramisu ($14) - The menu says "the best in Sentosa, some say Singapore" and I'd have to agree! This is actually the Chef's secret recipe, so secret that even the owner doesn't know what goes into it! It's a really boozy Tiramisu with a lot of texture. It's soft, fluffy & creamy with a nice chocolatey taste, a hint of coffee and more than a hint of alcohol so this is a tiramisu with kick!! It's served with chocolate soil surrounding it to give it that texture. For a person who's not a fan of Tiramisu, I ate 3/4 of it! You cannot leave without ordering this. I enjoyed the food so much, I actually went back the next night with my momma and yes I had the tiramisu again! Pet lovers, you'll also be happy to know that the alfresco area is pet friendly.

Fotos subidas con el móvilClass 95 checks out... OCTAPAS Spanish Tapas Bar Blk D, #01-08 Clarke Quay, River Valley Road Singapore 179023 (First restaurant on the right hand side after the bridge.) Tel: (65) 68372938 OPENING HOURS: Sunday: 12pm to 1am Monday - Thursday: 3pm to 1am Friday, Saturday & Eve of PH: 12pm to 2am It's all about Tapas this week and we checked out Octapas at Clarke Quay. It's been around nearly 3 years now (in August) and they serve up a myriad of hot & cold tapas, traditional chilled Sangrias, Paellas & more. Located at Clarke Quay just by the riverside, it has an indoor & alfresco area with live music. Opened till late, it's a great place to just kick back & relax or pop down when you feel a bit peckish. So here are my top picks! VALENCIANA PAELLA ($40 for 2/$60 for 4) - One of 4 paellas available and this is their signature version from Valencia. You've got chorizo, pork, chicken, mussels, squids, shrimps & fish. This colourful paella didn't just look pretty, it tasted so good too! Arrived soft, wet & gooey but after awhile when left to stand, the rice had the right consistency. Lots of spices have been used so it was bursting with flavour. The fish was soft & tasty, mussels & squid were fresh, the chorizos not overly salty and there's even a hard-boiled egg! The portion's pretty big so if you're going to be ordering more than just this dish, the portion for 4 can easily feed 6 or even 8 people. Piquillos Relllonos de Bacalao Gratinados ($17.50) - Stuffed Cod Piquillo Peppers. These pretty Spanish peppers were cooked until nice & mushy and they have a wonderful natural sweetness to them & aren't spicy! Inside, you have a creamy Cod mixture that's made of minced cod with milk, flour & smoked onion. It's served with a really delicious tomato cream sauce. Such a flavourful happy dish, you'll be going back for more. Lubina en Salsa Verde ($17.50) - Seabass in Salsa Verde. My favourite dish! It doesn't look like much when it arrives but when you put it into your mouth, it's POW WOW!! The seabass is so soft it melts in your mouth. The salsa verde isn't spicy, very flavourful without overwhelming the fish. A light delicate tapas that even the health fanatics will approve of. Served with mussels. Berenjena Tostada ($9.50) - This is the Spanish version of a brushcetta and one of 6 available. This Vegetarian one has aubergine, peppers, onions & grated parmesan cheese. The bread is fluffy and the outside is toasted nice & crispy & the veggies well marinated. You get a bit of sweet yet salty and yet a wee bit of sour. "Secreto" Cerdo Iberico ($17) - Grilled "Secreto" Iberico Pork, Porto Wine Sauce & Bacon Pie. The Iberico pork was really soft and tender and very tasty. It has a nice bit of marbeling in the meat to give it that juiciness. The Porto wine sauce is like a heartier brown sauce that goes really well with the pork without overwhelming it. Only thing is the Bacon Pie is on the salty side so if you love bacon & potato or like your dishes "giam", your eyes will be rolling skyward in bliss. If not, have a bit of the pie but concentrate on the yummy soft pork! Champinones al Ajillo ($12) - Sauteed mushrooms in sherry & garlic. Thick cut mushrooms that are really juicy with lots of garlic and chopped herbs. Yummy!

Fotos de la biografía…To a daughter, a father is usually the first impression of what a man is like, and on this model she rates men in general, and in particular, a potential husband. She will probably choose someone with similar qualities if she respects her father or else, someone very different if she doesn’t like what she sees in her father. In traditional Chinese families, fathers act like the chairman of a company, providing the financial security and is the final authority in matters of discipline and major decisions. The mother takes on the day-to-day running of the home. When the mother cannot cope, the father steps in. Your father comes from a traditional family but unlike his father, he has appointed himself co-manager with me. On a score of ten, you have given him a seven. You say that he is overprotective. He is quick to say no if you want to come home late at night. I know he takes his role seriously because he will get up from bed suddenly and ask me, “Is Ming home?” And when you need transport to get home at night, he would go immediately to fetch you from wherever you are. You only need to telephone him. To protect his family against harm is a basic instinct in a man. He has been looking after you from the day you were born. Have I told you that he used to sterilize all your milk bottles, and every day made six bottles of milk and put them in the fridge before he went to work? Now that you have grown up, he wants to protect you, not as a father protects a baby, but as a father protecting his grown-up daughter. Being a man and a wise one, he knows the potential dangers out there. He also wants to protect you and your brother against the sense of having failed. That is why he is insistent you two keep up with your work and study hard. Time is his most precious commodity, yet he makes every effort to spend time with us. Time spent fetching and sending, over dinner, in the evenings at home. And we take it for granted that he will always be there for us. Your father will probably still fall short of a perfect score because children will always have different expectations at different times. In my opinion, a parent should try to meet the children’s expectations only up to a point. There really is more to what a parent does than the children would agree with or understand. It could be years later when children appreciate the wisdom of a parent’s action. Till then you will just have to accept it. Love, Mum 16 June 1994 Part 6 of 6, excerpts from the collection of letters “My Daughter, My Friend: Letters to a Daughter,” by Irene Chua Hwee Kee, 2013, Singapore, on @[396662803727649:274:Class 95's Love Songs with Marilyn Lee], because our mums are never far from our hearts. Fotos de la biografíaPart 5 of 6, excerpts from “My Daughter, My Friend: Letters to a Daughter,” by Irene Chua Hwee Kee, 2013, on @[396662803727649:274:Class 95's Love Songs with Marilyn Lee]. Written when her daughter was 17 till she turned 21, these letters, while celebrating that unique relationship between a mother and a growing up daughter, provides valuable insights into life, which mothers sometimes wished they knew how to put across and daughters wish their own mothers had talked to them about. …My view is that a person’s emotional and mental make-up is really quite fragile. For example, traumatic experiences can permanently scar a person. Some people never completely recover from depression and other psychiatric problems brought on by terrible things that happen to them. There is no way to know who would be so badly affected. By then, it may be too late. There seems to be in these people a thin line between normalcy and mental and emotional breakdown. What we read, see and hear form our experiences and can have a profound impact on our lives. The bad things we persist in experiencing can darken our thoughts, change the way we think about ourselves and the world and influence our behaviour. The more we are exposed to evil, the less we get repulsed. After some time, it doesn’t bother us as much. Then comes the point when evil becomes acceptable and its hard to know the difference between good and evil. So don’t seek out experiences that can possibly have a negative effect on you because you can never tell how badly you may be affected…there is plenty of thrills in the pursuit of goodness and truth and things beautiful and wholesome. That is where the adventure in living starts. I would like you to learn to be discerning. Exercise your free will and choose good. I have found it helpful when I am in a spot to remember this verse, (from Phillippians) Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, Whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable. If anything is excellent or praiseworthy - Think about such things. Love, Mum 26 May 1994 (Published by Ethos Books Singapore)

Fotos de la biografíaThe popular book “My Daughter, My Friend: Letters to a Daughter,” by Irene Chua Hwee Kee was first published in 1996. It has just been newly released as a 2nd edition, as a valued source of nurturing for girls, boys, teens and young adults. Excerpt, Part 4 of 6, on @[396662803727649:274:Class 95's Love Songs with Marilyn Lee]. Dear Ming, I have advised you to have lots of friends and to get to know many boys before you settle for one. Yet I don’t want you to give your boyfriends the wrong signals. I’m bringing this up now because of a particular guy you see more than the others. Please remember that people and their feelings must be taken seriously. In real life, men and women can be hurt very deeply and broken relationships can permanently scar a life. It is difficult for a boy and girl to have a close and long-standing relationship and keep it platonic. Friendship with a boy can change into courtship. It is at this stage that trust is expected or assumed. It is at this stage too that hurt is greatest should one person break the relationship. So before you get into a serious relationship I want you to be aware that people interpret behaviour to mean different things. A girl from a sheltered and traditional background may interpret a boy’s good manners, such as opening car doors and giving her lifts at nights after attending functions, as being ‘interested’ in her. To him it may just be common courtesy. Do not just slide into a relationship. At an early point in a close friendship, ask yourself, “What am I doing with this?” Ask him too, what he has in mind. Make a mutual agreement regarding the type of friendship you would both like to have. Review the relationship after some time. If you are not ready to commit to having an exclusive relationship, say so. Since you are still young and studying, and uncertain of definite plans for the next few years, don’t make promises for the future over which you have no control. I have no intention to match-make you. So don’t let anymore else pressurize you to commit if deep down you don’t want to. A man I know finally relented and agreed to marry his long-time girlfriend because she threatened to kill herself. The marriage broke up within a year. Similarly, never do anything to jeopardize your right to make a decision. If you realize you have made a mistake and the relationship is not going the way it should, decide and get out. It wont hurt so badly now as it would later on. Always keep your friendships honest and frank with no hidden agendas. Never toy with other people’s feelings or manipulate them. Just as we don’t want to get hurt, we shouldn’t hurt others. Love, Mum 9 September 1993
