We had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Donald Byrd perform live with the Blackbyrds in Philadelphia, although Donald was not officially a part of the group. I remember the fun he had playing "Happy Music" along with his hand-picked Howard University 'student' crew (The Blackbyrds).
