Conservation: can we afford it? One hundred years ago today saw the birth of the modern-day Wildlife Trusts. It started with just one man - and now the Trusts have 800,000 members. But in this age of austerity, can we afford to keep spending so much on nature? Or is it time to prioritise human beings? * Is spending millions trying to get two pandas to mate in Edinburgh a good use of money? * Do you see conservation as protecting our future - or holding us back, when we need more houses built, for example? * are we protecting the right things - or spending too much time on "cuddly" species? *do YOU give to conservation charities?

Does special needs labelling help or hinder? "Outdated and not fit for purpose" is how the children's minister Sarah Teather has described the system for children with special educational needs. The government's proposing changes that would give parents more control over the money that's allocated for their childs needs - and the changes could also mean fewer children being labelled. More than one in five school pupils is now identified as having some kind of special need. - Has being categorised a 'special needs' meant your child now has a label? Is that a good or a bad thing? - Would you like more control in how money is spent on your child's requirements? - Have you had to battle to get your child recognised as needing extra help? - Are parents a better judge than the experts?

As a country we give something like £8billion in overseas aid. Is that the right amount? Times are tough in the UK, there's no question about that. Yet if you compare our situation to many other countries, we are pretty lucky. We are a wealthy country. Do we give the right amount to help other countries?

What is the British sense of humour? Is it a bit of a carry on? Or is it something different? Del Boy actor David Jason says our British sense of humour is being lost because of political correctness. Many of the jokes that made 'Only Fools and Horses' so well loved would not be allowed today, he says. One storyline involved a singer with a speech impediment but these days it would probably end up on the cutting room floor. - Are we too sensitive these days? - what makes British humour different? - is comedy less funny than it used to be, because of political correctness or over-sensitivity? - is anything fair game as long as it makes you laugh?
