Siân Busby's 'A Commonplace Killing' is The Book at Bedtime this week and next week. The thriller is set in 40's London, and follows a Detective Inspector who investigates the mysterious death of a respectable woman who is found in a bomb site well known as a lover's haunt. The book was completed by Busby just weeks before she died of lung cancer in September last year and was transcribed for publication by her husband, BBC business editor Robert Peston. Author Iain Banks has died aged 59, two months after announcing he had terminal cancer. He was best known for his novels The Wasp Factory, The Crow Road and Complicity.
