A sailor in the Royal Canadian Navy says she’s fighting two battles right now — one against breast cancer and another against the navy — over a disputed sick day last year. Able Seamen Carol Ann Deyoung, a breast cancer patient, is charged with two counts of disobeying a lawful command and one count of absence without leave. 'I feel somehow betrayed,' she says.

Coming up on Mainstreet today, a remarkable story about a Blue Nose Marathon participant who is lucky to be alive after a devastating skydiving accident in 1997. Carol Murray-Rodriguez fell roughly 3,200 feet at a speed of 90 km per hour and survived. This Sunday, Carol is participating in the 10K at the Blue Nose Marathon.
