Organized Amateur Baseball (often called “Town ball”) celebrates its 80th anniversary this summer. South Dakota native Mel Antonen writes about baseball for SI.com and is a commentator for the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles. On May 7 the Pentagon released a report showing that 26,000 military members were sexually assaulted in FY2012. This was announced two days after an Air Force officer in charge of sexual assault prevention was himself arrested for sexual battery.
